Biography:
Dr Speck is a journalist, researcher and foreign policy analyst currently based in Heidelberg. He edits the ‘Global Europe Morning Brief’, a daily newsletter on EU foreign affairs, and writes a monthly foreign policy column for Neue Zürcher Zeitung. Dr Speck is also an associate fellow at FRIDE, a think tank in Madrid.

He has been a EU correspondent for Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty in Brussels, as well as Editor-in-chief of the organization’s website in Prague (www.rferl.org). In 2006, he was a fellow at AICGS in Washington.

Dr Speck’s articles have appeared in Süddeutsche Zeitung, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Tagesspiegel, Zeit, Merkur and Internationale Politik (DGAP).
