Biography:
Fabio Scarpello is a journalist and analyst who covers Southeast Asia while based in Indonesia. He has previously been a correspondent for the Jakarta Post, the AdnKronos International, and various European publications. He has extensive familiarity with the region and maintains contact with a network of non-state actors, religious leaders, politicians, academics, and activists throughout Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and Timor-Leste.

Scarpello also regularly contributes commentary on Southeast Asian affairs for Australia’s Special Broadcasting Services and Italy’s Radio Radicale, among other broadcast media outlets, and also has experience consulting in the private sector on regional security matters and business intelligence. He has a Master’s Degree in Globalization and Governance from Murdoch University.
