Biography:

At Gryphon Partners LLC, Eli oversees all consulting engagements, and advises leading businesses and non-profits on issues relating to emerging markets. He counsels clients on strategic communication and engagement with senior business executives, political leaders, and other decision makers in the Middle East and Central Asia.

While at the Department of State, his portfolios covered regional security in the Middle East and the Western Hemisphere. He analyzed security trends in Latin America and the Caribbean and formulated policy recommendations for U.S. policymakers, as well as drafting policy memoranda, remarks, and official government correspondence. He also represented the United States at several diplomatic conferences and was an accredited members of the U.S. Delegation to the Organization of American States. He received two Superior Honor Awards, two Meritorious Honor Awards, and one Franklin Award during this time.

After his service at the State Department, he spent summer 2007 in Madrid as the Visiting Fellow for the Democratisation Programme at FRIDE, researching, drafting case studies and evaluating the effectiveness of European democracy promotion efforts. Afterwards, he moved to the Afghanistan Legal Education project, where he developed and implemented legal curricula for Afghan Law Schools, fundraised for the effort and wrote the first textbook on modern Afghan law.

His publications include pieces for National Review Online, Foreign Policy, and The American Thinker, as well the textbook An Introduction to the Commercial Laws of Afghanistan.
