He has been a Captain in the US Navy Reserve, Naval Air Systems Command, since 1989. While there, he has directed all recruiting, training, assignments, work prioritization, funding, deployments, and performance evaluations for a workforce of 260 highly skilled engineers, operational specialists, and technicians (2009-2011). During his service he served on active duty with 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, U.S. Marine Corps. Managed engagement strategies, operations, training, and deployment schedules for Navy aviation and maintenance personnel supporting U.S. Marine Corps combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan (2008-2011). Managed small, mobile teams of forensic engineers who analyzed hostile fire against U.S. military aircraft. Provided critical event information to government executives, public affairs responses to media and congressional inquiries, and forensic analysis data to aircraft survivability engineers and intelligence agencies (2006-2007). Led multiple engineering project teams in all phases of major development programs.
