Dr. Sharnoff has spent the past ten years studying the Middle East and has lived in three major world capitals. He has congressional experience on Capitol Hill; worked at influential policy centers in Washington; and has published in academic journals and other media outfits.

Biography:

Michael Sharnoff is founder and editor-in-chief of Sharnoff’s Global Views.™ He earned a bachelor’s in history from the College of Charleston and a master’s in Middle Eastern History from Tel Aviv University. He recently completed a PhD in Middle East Studies at King’s College, London, and his dissertation examines Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasser’s perceptions and responses to peace. Dr. Sharnoff is an expert on Nasser and his research interests include Arab-Israeli relations and contemporary Middle Eastern history.

Academic Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Middle East and Mediterranean Studies from King’s College, London

M.A. in Middle Eastern History from Tel Aviv University

B.A. in History from the College of Charleston
