Biography

Doug Hanchard is President of Rapid Response Consulting, with offices in Toronto, Washington, DC, and London. The firm specializes in ICT risk assessment and management. He has been a Senior Partner at RRC since 2008. Prior to this, (2002-2008), he served as Director, Associate Director, and Senior Solution Architect at Bell Canada. During this time, he was appointed as Lead Next Generation IP network Architect and rebuilt all telecommunications and cabling at Toronto’s Pearson International Airport. From 2000-2002, Mr. Hanchard was Frame Relay Product Manager for TELUS Corporation. During the 90s, he moved his way up from Slaves to National Data Director at AT&T Canada.

With almost 18 years in Communications, Government, and Security, he is a member of the International Telecommunications Union’s (ITU) International Institute Electrical Engineers & Electronics (IEEE), the Industry Canada Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), and the Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT). Mr. Hanchard has published five white papers regarding security, imagery and humanitarian relief, and the military utilities of commercial wireless. A government blogger at ZDNET, he has posted more than 700 articles.
