Dr. Reed is the President and CEO of the Veregister Corporation, where he specializes in renewable energy infrastructure. He is also Emeritus Professor of Public Administration at the University of New Mexico, where he has taught for almost 40 years. Dr. Reed is the President and CEO of the Veregister Corporation (2000-), which specializes in consulting, research, analysis, and the development of renewable energy infrastructure. Prior to this, from 1994-2000, he served as Managing Director at EPOTEC, Inc., which researched economic applications in the environmental field. Currently Emeritus Professor of Public Administration at the University of New Mexico, from 1973 until 2009 he was Assistant, Associate Professor, and Director of UNM-North. Early in his career, Dr. Reed was an American Foreign Policy Analyst at the Congressional Research Service at the Library of Congress.
Besides these academic positions, he was appointed Post-doctoral Fellow at UCLA, a Visiting Faculty member at the Rocky Mountain Senior Executive Program at the University of Colorado, and Senior Associate at the New Mexico Engineering Research Institute at the University of New Mexico. During this time, he has received Contracts and Grants from the Los Alamos National Laboratory, the State of New Mexico, NASA, the US Department of Energy, the UN Conference on Trade and Development, the Navajo Nation, and the Kellogg Foundation. Director of many conferences, he is also widely published, and is the author of Precious Air, the Kyoto Protocol and Profit in the Global Warming Game, and was awarded the IPPY award as Book of the Year (2006.)
