Biography 

Jeremy Taylor is an independent consultant specializing in Asian-African engagement, African political, risk and conflict analysis, peacebuilding, governance, and policy development. Previously employed in the NGO sector, Dr. Taylor worked in a number of African countries conducting research and implementing programs in the areas of peacebuilding and mediation support. He currently works as a contributor to the International Institute of Strategic Studies (IISS) Armed Conflict Database for Sudan and South Sudan. His PhD thesis was entitled Japan’s (Re)engagement in Africa: The Case of South Sudan, which examined Japan’s aid, peacekeeping and potential energy investments in South Sudan; the research details recent changes in Japan’s Africa policies.
