Dr. Akude started his career as a lecturer and research fellow at the Department of Political Science of the University of Cologne, Germany. He taught Courses on African Conflicts, Failed States, Conflict Management, International Political Economy, and New Wars. His research endeavors revolved around these issues while focusing on a political economy analysis of the internal wars in Liberia, Sierra Leone, Guinea Bissau, Guinea and Ivory Coast from 1989 to 2005.

Biography

Dr. Akude started his career as a lecturer and research fellow at the Department of Political Science of the University of Cologne, Germany. He taught courses on African conflicts, failed states, conflict management, international political economy, and new wars. His research endeavors revolved around these issues while focusing on a political economy analysis of the internal wars in Liberia, Sierra Leone, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea and Ivory Coast from 1989 to 2005.

Dr. Akude also served as an advisor to the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development in the Department of Planning and Strategy. There he worked on various programs including “The Civil Society as Strategic Partners”, “Media and Development” and “Innovation and Development”. He also has experience working at the German Development Institute (DIE/GDI), where he served as a Senior Researcher focusing on the topic of knowledge for development.
