Dr. Moshe Terdiman is a Middle Eastern studies scholar, who is an expert on Islam in Africa and the Caribbean Basin, Islamic social issues, Islam and the environment, environmental issues throughout the Arab and Muslim world, and interfaith environmental cooperation. Currently, Dr. Terdiman is the director of Green Compass Research, an organization dealing with interfaith environmental cooperation, as well as the director of the Research of Islam and Muslims in Africa (RIMA).

Biography

Dr. Moshe Terdiman is a Middle Eastern studies scholar, who is an expert on Islam in Africa and the Caribbean Basin, Islamic social issues, Islam and the environment, environmental issues throughout the Arab and Muslim world, and interfaith environmental cooperation.
Currently, Dr. Terdiman is the director of Green Compass Research, an organization dealing with interfaith environmental cooperation, as well as the director of the Research of Islam and Muslims in Africa (RIMA). He is also an adjunct lecturer in the Program of Conflict Resolution at the Ben Gurion University. During the academic year of 2010 – 2011, Dr. Terdiman was an adjunct lecturer in the Department of Geography and Environmental Development at the Ben Gurion University, where he taught Islam and the environment and Environmental policy in the Middle East.
Dr. Terdiman is also a partner of the Irish company Compliance & Risks Ltd., which deals with environmental legislation worldwide as well as a research fellow in the Ezri Center for Iran and Persian Gulf Studies in the University of Haifa.
Between the years 2005 – 2008, Dr. Terdiman was the director of the Islam in Africa Project and a research fellow in PRISM, the Project for the Research of Islamist Movements, directed by Dr. Reuven Paz.
