James Dorsey is a Singapore-based Research Fellow at the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies, and also a columnist for many publications over the years. His career in journalism and consulting has spanned almost four decades and several continents. He is also the Chairman and Founder of Quest Ltd., which runs a global network of 800 journalists interested in water and sustainable development.

Biography

James Dorsey is a Singapore-based Research Fellow at the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies, and also a columnist for many publications over the years. His career in journalism and consulting has spanned almost four decades and several continents. A Chairman and Founder of Quest Ltd., he serves as an advisor to major public relations companies, such as Hill & Knowlton and Richard Levick Communications LLC. Quest further runs a global network of 800 journalists interested in water and sustainable development.

Currently a columnist for Your Middle East, ISportconnect and Hurriyet Daily News, he has also done journalism work for Al Arabiya, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Times, United Press International, Financial Times, The New York Times, The Christian Science Monitor, as well as freelance work for TIME Magazine, ABC News, NBC News, National Public Radio and various Dutch radio and television outlets. He was a Pulitzer Prize nominee in both 1981 and 1988.

His focus as the S. Rajaratnam School is on the Middle East and West Asia, giving lectures, seminars and regular commentary on current events. He consults for Exclusive Analysis Ltd., and Hill and Knowlton, and serves or has served on the advisory board/council for several groups, including the European Water Partnership, the World Economic Forum and a sports advisory council to the Emir of Qatar.

His publications include “De Octoberoorlog” (on the 1973 Middle East War) in the Middle East section of “Spectrum Encyclopedia, and Water Security: Does Europe Have A Strategy?
