Elinor Sloan is Professor of International Relations at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada. She teaches and writes in the areas of international security studies and strategic studies. Prior to joining academia in 2002, Prof Sloan was an officer in the Canadian Armed Forces and, later, a civilian defense analyst at National Defence Headquarters.

Biography 

Elinor Sloan is Professor of International Relations at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada. She teaches and writes in the areas of international security studies and strategic studies. Prior to joining academia in 2002, Prof. Sloan was an officer in the Canadian Armed Forces and later a civilian defense analyst at the National Defence Headquarters. She is author of five books and several referred articles on topics related to security and defense, in addition to being a regular commentator in the media.
