Professor Mitat Çelikpala is an Associate Professor of International Relations at TOBB Economy and Technology University in Ankara, Turkey. He has done extensive work regarding the Caucasus, Caucasian Diaspora, people and security in the Caucasus and the Black Sea regions, and Turkish-Russian relations. Before joining the academia, he served at the Turkish National Security Council.

Biography

Professor Mitat Çelikpala is an Associate Professor of International Relations at TOBB Economy and Technology University in Ankara, Turkey. He has done extensive work regarding the Caucasus, Caucasian Diaspora, people and security in the Caucasus and the Black Sea regions, and Turkish-Russian relations. Before joining the academia, he served at the Turkish National Security Council.
Currently, he is lecturing at TOBB Economy and Technology University, at the Army War College, and at the Turkish National Security Academy. There, he lectures on Turkish foreign policy, the history of the Caucasus and Central Asia, and Turkish political structure and political life. He is the academic adviser to the National Security Academy, the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs’s Strategic Research Center, and the Turkish Armed Forces’ Strategic Research Center (SAREM) in Ankara. He is the author of many publications dealing with above mentioned topics published in academic journals as well as newspapers.
