Robert Johnson comes from over 20 years of military experience, specializing in planning, budgeting, training, and technology development. After serving in a variety of positions including Director of Joint Special Projects and Chief of the Future Warfare Division at the Army Capabilities Integration Center. Mr. Johnson is now Program Manager at Abrams Learning and Information Systems, a small business focusing on Veterans Training & Credentialing and Strategic Business Development. As Special Operations Force liaison, in 2007, he advised the Multinational Forces-Iraq Commanding General on his congressional testimony regarding the “surge.” He has published and contributed to dozens of internal reports, publications, and manuals.
Robert Johnson is a retired Army Colonel with a focus on strategy, design, planning, military doctrine, program development, and operational planning. He has been instrumental in developing the Army chief of Staff’s Future Warfare Study Program, Joint and Army concept development and “Design”, a paradigm shift from Battle Command to Mission Command, and the facilitation of large-scale wargaming simulations. Mr. Johnson was one of three colonels chosen from across the Army to assist in writing the Army’s Campaign Plan for the War on Terror following the September 11th Attacks.
Previous to retirement and small business, Mr. Johnson served as Director of the Joint Special Projects Office, at the USJFC in 2010, and spent eight years at the Army Capabilities Integration Center. In 2008, he was a selected author of the Joint Forces Command’s Capstone Concept for Joint Operations. He was the senior SOCCENT Special Operations Force adviser and liaison for the Multinational-Forces-Iraq in 2007. From 1998-2000, he served as Commander of the 3rd Battalion, 7th Field Artillery at Schofield Barracks, HI. Several of his more than a dozen publications include three recent RAND Corporation Publications, Joint/Full Spectrum/Special Operation Reports, and several articles concerning the future of warfare and design.
