A Wikistrat interactive simulation,
January 24-31, 2022

About The Simulation

From January 24 to 31, Wikistrat will run an online simulation with top Iran and Middle East experts in order to explore the downstream consequences of an Israeli strike on Iranian nuclear facilities.

Simulation Background

As talks between Iran and the world powers over a return to the 2015 nuclear agreement (JCPOA) continue in Vienna, the prospect of an Israeli military strike against the Islamic Republic is widely considered as the biggest wildcard in response to Iran’s nuclear program.

As the talks intensify, Israel itself has implied the possibility of such a strike. If it does indeed happen, it will be the most significant regional event in the Middle East in recent years.

In order to assess the downstream consequences of such a development, Wikistrat will run an interactive simulation with top experts on Iran and the Middle East.

Main Research Questions

  • How will an Israeli military strike impact Iran’s nuclear strategy?

  • What are the implications of such a strike on Iran’s regional involvement?

  • What are the implications of such a strike on Iran’s relations with the three superpowers:
the United States, Russia, and China?

  • How will an Israeli military strike impact the regime’s stability and the domestic situation in Iran?
