Dr. Zabikhulla Saipov is a political scientist from Uzbekistan and a lecturer at the School of World Politics. From 1994-2001, he was on diplomatic tenure at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan serving at various international economic organization departments. He was a visiting Fellow at the UNESCO Chair on Comparative Study of World Religions at Tashkent Islamic University and at the Center for Development Research at Bonn University researching the issues of Islam, governance, institutions, sociology and conflict.

Biography

Dr. Zabikhulla Saipov is a political scientist with practical and theoretical experience from Uzbekistan. Currently he is a lecturer at the School of World Politics.
From 1994-2001, he was on diplomatic tenure at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan serving at various international economic organization departments. He was also the Third Secretary at the Uzbek Embassy in Islamabad. Dr. Saipov’s monograph “The Islamic Factor in US Foreign Policy” is forthcoming this fall. He was a visiting Fellow at the UNESCO Chair on Comparative Study of World Religions at Tashkent Islamic University and at the Center for Development Research at Bonn University researching the issues of Islam, governance, institutions, sociology and conflict. He held consultancy positions with UNDP Uzbekistan’s Project on public diplomacy.
He worked as an editor and transcriber on the New York Times Television’s Documentary “Afghan Terror’s Children” and as an intern volunteer at the Human Rights Media Advocacy NGO Witness in New York City. He presented papers in international conferences held at Columbia, Harvard, NDU, Sri Lanka and Uzbekistan.
